Resonance

Do you know, yesterday
leaves covered the grassed ground
in an unbroken patch of autumn colours
beside the pathway that I walked?

Do you know, they've put up a nice poem
on that AIDS poster,
above the water cooler
I frequent every morning?

Whether you know
because you'd been with me,
or I'd thought of bringing my camera,
or you're reading this right now --

I've been searching for that someone forever
to see the beautiful things I see
hear the same beautiful sounds I hear
and share every little bit I feel

Someone I find only in myself,
someone I find scattered
in many a different friend,

Someone I'll never find complete,
but you know, what I find while searching
is just as beautiful.
